Capitol City Consulting, LLC (CCC) announces the reappointment of Giovanni Masucci, President and Sr. Computer Forensic Examiner of CCC, to the Wake Tech Community College Advisory Board for the Computer Information Technology Department.
Mr. Masucci’s appointment stands as the third annual appointment to which he has been honored by Wake Tech Community College. Over the three years with the Advisory Board, Mr. Masucci’s appointment has resulted in the development of a class specifically educating students on Computer Forensics as well as a one year Computer Forensics Certificate, which was offered for the first time in the fall of 2006. Currently, the Advisory Board is working with the Computer Information Technology Department to determine and develop advanced courses in the field of Computer Forensics. In addition to yearly meetings, Mr. Masucci provides gratis ongoing consultation to the Computer Information Technology Department as a means to advance education and training on Computer Forensics.
Mr. Masucci recognized the importance and potential impact of the burgeoning field of Computer Forensics in 2001 when he attended a training session with the World Institute for Security Enhancement on Technical Surveillance Counter Measures where the field of Computer Forensics was introduced as an integral part of the process. By 2002, Mr. Masucci opened the doors of Capitol City Consulting, LLC, which was immediately North Carolina's leading Digital Forensics Firm and has since worked with cases/projects in criminal, corporate, and civil arenas. Additionally, Mr. Masucci and CCC has witnessed the field of Computer Forensics explode demanding more trained, certified and experienced Computer Forensic Examiners to meet the needs of clients who require the highest level of qualifications and ethics and whose work will stand legal scrutiny that all Computer Forensic work potentially faces.
Given the growth of the field of Computer Forensics and the demand for qualified Computer Forensics Examiners, Mr. Masucci initiated college level training of Computer Forensics with Wake Tech Community College. He recognized the need for the Computer Forensics to establish a standard of education and training for present day and future career positions. Although, at this time, Computer Forensic professionals require additional training via professional certifications, the training program is a start to the promising career of Computer Forensics.
Mr. Masucci has made additional strides in his commitment to contribute to educating in the field of Computer Forensics by instituting CCC’s Training and Education Division. Mr. Masucci has personally trained on numerous topics to include Digital/Computer Forensics, Digital Recovery, Testifying in Court, IT Security/Security Compliance, Ethics and Digital Forensics, Industrial Espionage, Identity Theft, Covert Intelligence and Federal and State Laws relative to Digital Forensics. Mr. Masucci has proudly conducted training on behalf of the North Carolina Bar Association as a CLE instructor since 2003 and now conducts CLE training to the legal community under the exclusive sponsorship of Capitol City Consulting, LLC. CCC’s Training and Education Division also provides training to personnel in corporate, academic and government organizations and pursues industry-specific educational credits to further meet the needs of professional communities learning applicable issues relative to Computer Forensics.
